The Monitor is an alternative newspaper published every other Monday at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. It began publishing in 1995 as a forum for students, faculty, and community members to write stories, voice opinions, or showcase art[1]. The paper published continuously until January 2007, when plans to move the paper online never materialized. The paper returned in printed form in April 2008 after year long break[1]. It is printed on newsprint in a tabloid style, and since 2004 has had a full page cover devoted to displaying art.
